I had a realisation...

Hai guys. =)

So I wrote a new poem. Yup. The story behind this one is a two piece puzzel really. Firstly, the poem 'Before you were mine' by Carol Ann Duffy forces me to see the diffrences between the person described as the poets mother and the kinds of people we have roaming the streets today. Also, generally the things I see on my way to and from school. I see general rudeness and ignorance day after day and, although it's not everyone, it seems more noticable and common for people to act that way these days. And thus, the poem 'This is how we'll be remembered' came about.

So enough of the short story and what not, time to get to the good bit yeah? Here's the poem for you, I hope you enjoy it and can maybe relate to and understand it.

While young we were told of earlier days,
With high heeled shoes, the aim to amaze,
Spotted dresses; hair worn up high,
Plenty of peers to smile to nearby,
Rebellious, like I, there is little doubt,
And there surely were moods that caused them to shout.

But we’re told of their kindness and of respect,
The mindset us youths do not resurrect.

Out without thought we forget all our care,
Leave it under their pillows, but why leave it there?
They view us as rude, ungrateful; we are,
The change in generation must seem so bizarre,
Obnoxious and ‘self-righteous’ out late in November,
This, my dear future, is how we’ll be remembered.

Tell me what you think! Don't be afraid to be honest. =]
Peace. <3
