Hai!
Okay so if you've heard the song 'Make it stop' by Rise against, you'll understand where my inspiration came from for the poem I'm posting. It's not my best; I wrote it at about 10:40pm last night just before bed when my mum and dad were maning at me to get offline. I'm such a rebel. Anyways. This is called 'Let love be love, we're born this way'.
He kissed another just like he,
Unashamed of what he’d be,
While others watched and kept away,
As he listened to the words they’d say.
She loved another who was quite like she,
As womanly as a woman could be,
And she held her hand and lived her life,
Waiting to call her woman her wife.
Cruel remarks had hindered that,
Stabbed their hearts and crushed them flat.
They tasted the hate in their daily lives,
Engraved upon the feeders knives.
And yet a man and woman may love,
With no bad thoughts that we speak of,
Happy, carefree; no-one dare deny,
The bond they share, nor let it die!
Blood is blood, is it not?
Or is this the fact us humans forgot?
Let love be love, we’re born this way,
And all the same at the end of the day.
Enjoy! =D
