I should start working...

...because this is another poem inspired by school. Actually got this one checked by my english teacher though, made one change which is what she suggested. Was only one word, not really significant, but heyy, it was an honest opinion which is what I've been looking for. =]

So yeah - this is a godly poem. I'm not religious - I'm agnostic. The poem will probably tell you that anyway though. I think it's quite relatable and I actually love this one if I'm honest. So as usual, comments and suggestions are really really appreciated. Hope you enjoy:

They echo their fears in their nights of need,
And through floods of tears they look to he and plead;
That he may listen to their words with which they cry,
As they raise their clasped hands up and into the sky,
Their bones corrode the skin that’s starved,
Through neglect of love they are mentally scarred.
A hell on earth – I ask you how?
And where has their faith gotten them now?

Whispered words of hope and faith,
They turn to he with all their grace,
Their thanks which now runs short and low,
That they carry with them to the places they go,
And the soul that he made now fades to dark,
And the helpless survivors trust that you hark.
A hell on earth – I ask you how?
And where has their faith gotten them now?

Weeping softly the one with no start,
Produced so cruelly, the slow beating heart,
A mother’s finger is tightly gripped,
As the incapacitated existence is slowly ripped,
Away from the surface of his dying world,
They ask for his help with the life they were hurled.
A hell on earth – I ask you how?
And where has their faith gotten them now?

That's called 'Where has their faith gotten them now?'. Surprising title ay?! =]

So send this on and stuff, follow me on twitter too: Hollie_Cook. Always following back so any tweets aswell as comments with suggestions and reviews would be very welcome.

Thanks for reading guys. =]

Sorry for the upcoming break...

Heyyyy.

This is just a quick post to warn you there might be a rather large break in posting because my laptop is broken. Basically, I'll be posting again when I have something to say or post, and when I actually am capable of doing so. I'll update you from school when and if I can.

Take care guys!

...And this is how it feels

Evening. =]

Firstly, thanks to everyone who's looked over the last few days. I really want to get this blog more popular, so please send it on!! It's well on it's way to 400 views, so help me get it there by passing it on and letting others do the same. Much love for those of you who do. =]

This blog - as you can probably tell by the title - is a personal feelings poem upload. So yes, it has a poem, and I think it might be relatable. This one was written on my phone originally (on a bus). I'm honestly not sure about it, so I need some feedback for this one. But yeah; I'm not gonna' waffle too much - I know it gets boring. Here's the poem. =]

The life with which I lead is
But a life I cannot live,
Within this scribble of a world with
All its pressure to which we give
Into to be the reflection of;
What society wants us to be,
So we’re not the island
Isolated in the sea
Of laughing faces, taunting
Within my bubble that they
Pop with their cloned daggers so
I’m directed in their way
Of prejudice beliefs of what
Perfection was and is now
Until forever in
A body that’s not ours,
But the possession of the
World that’s too full
Of fashion courts and
The teen’s judgemental school.
And we are forced to lead a life
With which I cannot love that much
Until I’m granted the bare
Hand to leave my identifiable touch

That was called 'Expectations'. See if you can work out why!
Hope you liked it, but if not, and even if you do, comment to let me know why. Seriously, the more of you that comment, the bigger the smile on my face gets. I like to smile.
So pass this on - comment - follow me on twitter - and so on...
MUCH LOVE.

Lucky you

Hi again.

Another poem for you to read, but I'm not sure how many views I'm gonna' get as I'm cutting advertising on certain places due to certain people and their unwanted comments, but I'd rather get views from people who want to see what I post, so this should be better.

As I said, I have another poem to upload which I wrote this morning. I can't really remember the inspiration for this, but I think it'a alright. I wont waffle on today, so here's the poem for you.

It’s the star on which we wish;
Before we go to sleep,
It’s the secret withheld optimism;
That ensures we need not weep,
It’s the prehension of each hand;
Within the other one,
It’s the rainbow in the storm;
That hints we’ll see the sun,
It’s the slowly dying day;
After which we greet another,
It’s the chicks within their nests;
Nurtured by their mother,
It’s the leaves upon the branches;
Of a lonely winter tree,
It’s the faint calling voice;
Within the mind of me.

That was called 'What is hope?'.

One thing I love about writing poetry, is that when I'm looking for alternate words, I learn new ones. Makes me feel smart. =P

Anyway - thanks for reading! I have made another blog on a different site, but it does not mean I will stop posting here. I'll probably use this more often because I'm used to it. If you do wanna check it out; tweet me or something at Hollie_Cook. Much love!

First poem written in 2011

Hellooooooo. =]

Ok so schools started again. Back to the normal routine of being up early and wanting to sleep all day. It's so hard to concentrate when you're tired, specially since I have no glasses.
They broke...
I don't know how.

So anyway. All of you who are back to school and work, I feel for you - I really do. But luckily to put you in a better mood, as the title of this post says, there is a new poem to read! Which I will be posting right here! Right now! Well not literally now because the now that I wrote now in, is no longer now, now, you see?

Just read the poem... =]

Her threshold bore with untold strength,
The weight of someone new,
The futures little sign of hope,
Of what mankind can do,
We mock, we enrage, we distress,
Neglecting times when one was oblivious,
To the treasures with which we were blessed;
Miracles – disguised by human faces
But badly done – we see through
The masks that aim to deceive,
And eliminate the praise they are due.

Fortunate, unlikely, chosen souls,
Reside in shells of flesh,
Our mentors in health and throughout our life,
Are with us until out death.

That was called 'With us until death'. I hope you liked it. I'll work on some more, but I can't promise a regular update because the writing of these poems takes effort and ideas, but as soon as I write one, I will make sure i post it up here for you too read. That's a promise even if they arent regular or frequent.

Sorry for the essays. Thanks for reading, keep sending Smudgesaysso on, I appreciate it.

2011 baby!

Happy new year!!

I havn't posted since last year!
I hope your new years were all amazing as mine was. This is just a catch up blog, no poem again, but I'm working on getting a new one up for you. Going to gty and make it really good as it's the first one of this year. I'll try to get more regular posts up this year because I love writing poetry and I don't think I write enough. The hardest bit is finding the inspiration to create poetry, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for little things that could spark a blog post. =]

Happy 2011 readers! xxx
